The Yggdarsil Captivating Storytelling Competition is a writing contest designed to discover and promote the best storytellers, as well as provide an opportunity for school and university students to showcase their storytelling skills.
The competition will commence on May 22, 2023, during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023. Objective The Yggdarsil Storytelling Competition aims to celebrate the timeless art of storytelling and its profound impact on humanity since the dawn of time.
By identifying talented writers who create captivating stories with the potential to scale across various intellectual property opportunities, the competition seeks to honor the rich history of storytelling and its role in shaping culture, connecting people, and inspiring change. Through this contest, Yggdarsil encourages school and university students to carry forward the tradition of storytelling, fostering creativity and imagination while promoting the development of high-quality, engaging story.

- The competition is open to school and university students primarily targeting students in the UAE and Middle East region.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished works.
- Participants must be the sole author of their submitted work.
- Submissions must be in English or Arabic.
- Word count limit: 2,500-7,500 words.
- Participants may submit only one entry.
- Submissions must adhere to the competition's theme: storytelling with potential for intellectual property opportunities.

- Participants must agree to grant Yggdarsil the rights to publish and promote their submitted work (on Yggdarsil website and Social Media) for competition purposes.
